The Challenge

Project leaders, resource managers, and employees were working across a patchwork of legacy systems, Clarity, Deltek, TRS, MII, and others, none of which communicated cleanly. No-one had a unified view of staff availability, skills, or how to match people to project needs at enterprise scale. For a research and engineering organization whose value depends on putting the right people on the right problems, that gap was material.

Icon's Approach

The implementation framed the platform as a supply-and-demand model. Workday remained the system of record for talent. Salesforce with Certinia PSA, supported by OneStream for financial reporting, became the system of record for project demand and execution. MuleSoft handled integrations to Workday, OneStream, TRS, Deltek, and MII. Icon provided the senior Certinia PSA architecture capability inside the larger delivery team. The engagement covered the full Certinia PSC implementation, analytics dashboards by role, data migration from legacy systems, and a Train-the-Trainer change management track.

The Results

Live in production across the enterprise. Workday's talent picture and Certinia's project demand are connected through MuleSoft, enabling continuous staff and skill matching. Project lifecycle, resource management, financial management, and dashboards run on one platform with OneStream for downstream financial reporting, replacing the fragmented legacy toolset entirely.
